Reporting to the Manager – Water, this position will assist in the implementation and development of the Drinking Water Quality Management Standards (DWQMS) for both water treatment and water distribution areas. This position is primarily responsible for all issues with respect to compliance reporting as it relates to the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Ontario Water Resources Act, Clean water Act and all associated regulations.
Some Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills required include:
- 2 year college certificate or diploma in engineering or environmental/water
- 4 years of experience dealing with regulatory personnel or which a minimum of 3 years experience working with DWQMS
- Experience in water treatment
- Knowledge of QMS and DWQMS program requirements and environmental/emergency management programs
- Strong computer skills including MSOffice
- Knowledge of the water/wastewater system treatment and distribution operations and all governing legislation related to the Safe Drinking Water Act
- Able to interpret and administer a variety of acts and regulations, contractual agreements, policies and guidelines
