Session #14: Increase Your WTP Output Without Capital Investment Project

ON DEMAND RECORDING

“Expires Wed. Nov 20 2024”

Overview:

There have been vast developments in filtration medias since the introduction of sand & anthracite.  Expanded clay ceramic media is a high performance  3-dimensional high contact surface area for increased water purification performance. It provides municipal water system operations:

  • Up to 30% more treated water on the same media volume
  • Higher particle capture and storage capacity
  • Increased water production in same filter footprint
  • Less backwash waste
  • Lower operational cost
  • Lower “clean filter” headloss
  • >15 years of life expectancy
  • Minimum to no changes to existing infrastructure
  • Return on investment of less than three (3) years

Replacing the media in your existing filters and design planning for future facilities, BENEFIT from no media replacement over WTP life expectancy; up to 30% more product water output; smaller size filters; time between backwashes can be extended by up to 500%, backwash waste volume reduced by up to 35% and higher particle capture capacity.

At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

          • Applications that would benefit from high performance media
          • Advantages of expanded clay ceramic media vs traditional sand and anthracite
          • How to increase single media and dual media filters production capacity
          • How to reduce backwash waste, lower initial head loss, less backwashing and increased filter run time = lower operational costs.
