Overview:
AWater utilities face constant challenges in maintaining their buried water assets while minimizing disruptions and costs. This session will introduce participants to non-invasive condition assessment techniques that can transform how utilities manage their assets.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

- How acoustic correlators work to pinpoint hidden leaks within your network, saving time, water, and resources.
- Understand why pipe wall condition is crucial to proactively manage assets, prevent costly failures, and optimize pipe replacement and rehabilitation.
- How to non-invasively assess the condition of your water pipes while avoiding customer disruption, costly excavations, and negative community impact.

Facilitator: Jay Shah
Our facilitator is Jay Shah, P.Eng., Sr. Manager at Mueller Water Products and a leader in the water pipeline condition assessment space. With over 14 years of experience, he has led the delivery of non-invasive condition assessment and leak detection projects for utilities worldwide. Jay and his team have successfully conducted 4,000+ km of pipe condition assessment and detected over 10,000+ leaks for hundreds of water utilities globally. Jay is a contributing author in the AWWA M77 Condition Assessment Manual, 2nd edition.
Logistics:
These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.
