Overview
The management system you have in place helps ensure you consistently achieve the intended outcomes of your organization’s processes and programs. Your system is intended to be set-up for your success – and when parts of your system fail or don’t completely hit the target – you take actions to improve.
Previous to Spring 2020, utilities’ pandemic plans focused on the availability of qualified operators (and maybe identified what work could be suspended in the event that a certain percentage of staff were suddenly unavailable).
Seeing some early lessons in this COVID-19 experience, we have the opportunity to update our management systems with improved emergency plans, and new considerations on what’s possible for achieving what’s intended.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe management systems’ key goal
• What opportunities the COVID-19 experience presents for our management systems so far
• The workarounds we can implement to still achieve what’s intended.
