Overview:
During this session common installation issues with water distribution system components such as curb and main stops, couplings, tapping sleeves, and joint restraints will be reviewed along with possible outcomes. Come learn how to recognize common installation pitfalls as well as review recommended practices and tips to correctly install water system components.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

- You’re only as good as your tools.
- The importance of Torque and Lube.
- Protrusions, bulges and gaps.
- Restraint Solutions.

Neil McGillivray
of Ford Meter Box has been in the waterworks industry for over 30 years. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Economics, he began his waterworks career with Emco Supply in London, and went on to become the Canadian Division Manager of Star Pipe Canada, General Manager of Wolseley Waterworks, and more recently as Business Development Manager at Ford Meter Box.

These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.
