Overview:
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solutions have evolved significantly over the last 15 years, and today there are traditional Fixed Networks, Cellular Networks and now even Smart City/IoT Solutions such as Intelligent Street Light Solutions that are capable of reading Utility Water Meters. This session will provide an overview of each of these solutions, and the details you need to know and be mindful of when looking at AMI solutions.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Have knowledge in what these systems offer in added value and return on investment.
- Understand what an AMI Ready Water Meter is, and why it’s important.
- Understand how AMI Solutions also offer value to Water Utilities individual customers.

Facilitator: Chris Jay
Our facilitator is Chris Jay, Senior Technical Consultant for Water Meters and Water Meter Reading Solutions at Metercor Inc. With qualifications in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Chris has worked in the water meter and water meter reading solutions industry for over 36 years. Having worked for both Water Meter Solution Manufacturers and more recently Distribution companies, in the UK, Europe, South America and North America, Chris has gained significant knowledge, experience and expertise, in this unique industry.

These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.
