FREE to members.
Fee for non-members $30+HST.

It’s routine to collect and submit samples to the lab. But do you know why the lab requires everything that they do including a completed Chain of Custody, specific bottle types and preservatives, and all within a certain timeframe and temperature range? What goes on behind that “Warning Biohazard!” sign and what are all those people in lab coats doing? Learn what happens to your samples from the time they arrive at the lab to time you receive your Final Report.

At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

              • Understand and properly fill out the lab issued Chain of Custody (Request for Laboratory Services)
              • Understand the sample requirements for various analytical tests (bottle type/volume/preservative/holding time)
              • Why aseptic technique is so important in microbiological sample collection
              • Understand the process that microbiological samples go through in the lab and the associated quality control
              • Understand the Final Report  (test results/codes and detection limits)
