Overview:
On average only 0.8% of pipe is replaced each year. Like all products water pipe have a useful life, and the percentage of water mains beyond their useful lives has doubled from 8% to 16%. Infrastructure replacement is far behind schedule and the percentage of water mains over 50 years old has increased from 22% to 28% in the past six years. This equates to a 125-year national pipe replacement schedule! This is far beyond the life expectancy of most pipe & fitting materials. Join us to learn about the latest innovative piping restraint technologies and how engineers and utilities across North America have resolved complex piping design and repair problems.

Facilitator:
Ken Alessi
Our facilitator is Ken Alessi, the Strategic Product Manager for Hymax (a Mueller Brand) and has been with Hymax for 2 -1/2 years. Ken has over 45 years of experience in the water works industry and is a licensed Master Plumber with a Masters in Hydraulic Engineering.
Logistics:
These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.
