Session #10: Proactively Preventing Corrosion

Overview:
Imagine, digging into a project site to inspect an old valve on a water distribution system – You locate the valve which is now over 30 years old. You peel back the layers of Petrolatum Wax tape and paste….the valve looks brand new! Learn about products and techniques that can help protect your waterworks equipment from corrosion.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

Facilitator: Vinoth Kana

Our facilitator is Vinoth Kana, Eastern Canadian Sales Manager for Denso North America, a leader in corrosion prevention. Vinoth is NACE Level 1 Certified. NACE International (now part of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP)) certification is a recognized standard for individuals in the field of corrosion control and materials protection. Vinoth demonstrates expertise in understanding and controlling corrosion, leading to improvements in safety, environmental protection, and cost-effectiveness. Vinoth has assisted both public, private entities with corrosion prevention within complex projects.
Logistics:
These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.
