Overview:
Corrosion is insidious and often happens well out of the eye of public works personnel and literally right under foot of the tax paying public. The cost of corrosion is estimated to be $36B globally for just water and wastewater infrastructure. This cost can be significantly reduced by employing preventative measures such as coatings and cathodic protection. Learn about how corrosion works and how available solutions work to prevent it. These methods are guaranteed to make dollars and sense for your municipality.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:
-
-
-
-
-
-
- How to understand how corrosion works
- How different options delay or arrest corrosion entirely
- Key points on installation of those methods
- Maintenance requirements for different methods
- How to spot potential corrosion related problems before they arise
