Overview:

Cybersecurity is more critical today than ever before for water and wastewater services and systems. The threat landscape is constantly changing, and critical infrastructure is a highly desired target. The presentation will outline the current threat landscape for water and wastewater, provide an overview of cybersecurity governance, frameworks for cybersecurity and what to focus on first when addressing your cybersecurity needs.

At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

        • Explain the current threat landscape and its impact on water and wastewater systems
        • Describe the basic components of a Cybersecurity Framework and Overall Cybersecurity Governance
        • Describe the things that you should start doing
        • Describe the things that you should stop doing right away

Facilitator:

Kent Fulford

Our facilitator is Kent Fulford of Eramosa Engineering Inc. Kent is a network and cybersecurity specialist with 30 years of experience delivering complex networking and cybersecurity solutions for corporate and critical infrastructure customers. He has a passion for designing and building secure solutions. He has the privilege to provide a wide range of cybersecurity services from assessments, governance, education as well the design and implementation of cybersecurity technology-based solutions for Eramosa’s Water and Wastewater customers.

 

Logistics:
These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm.  Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.

The OMWA will provide a certificate recognizing participation in these On the Job Training sessions.
Attendance may also qualify as a Continuing Knowledge Activity for the PEO PEAK program
