Overview:
Water quality throughout the drinking water treatment process and distribution system requires careful monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and to help ensure finished water safety. Water quality monitoring is often labour-intensive and certain types of equipment can involve the use of costly and potentially toxic reagents. Instrumentation is available that will measure and record up to ten indicator parameters continuously and send data and alarms automatically to you phone and SCADA. This equipment requires no reagents, generates no waste stream and requires very little maintenance and consumables. This presentation will examine real experience with several installations of this innovative technology in Ontario and other jurisdictions.
At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

Facilitators:
Brian Jobb
Our facilitator is Brian Jobb of Brian Jobb Training & Consulting. Brian has been working in several sectors of the water industry since 1979; as a supervisor with MOE, a technical representative for a coagulant manufacturer, Vice-President of an equipment manufacturer and Training Institute Manager for the Walkerton Clean Water Centre. Brian is currently working as a training specialist and consultant and is representing Aquatic Life Ltd in Ontario. He has an Honours BSc. In environmental biology and has specialized in water quality and treatment of unusual contaminants throughout his career. Brian was the Chair/President of the OWWA (2004-5) and has received numerous water industry awards from AWWA, OWWA and OMWA.

These 1-hour virtual sessions are offered every alternate Thursday starting at 2:00 pm. Sessions are complimentary to all OMWA members and the fee for non-members is $30.00 CAD plus HST per person per session.Questions:
