Fee for non-members $30+HST.

Water quality throughout the drinking water treatment process and distribution system requires careful monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and to help ensure finished water safety. Water quality monitoring is often labour-intensive and certain types of equipment can involve the use of costly and potentially toxic reagents. Instrumentation is available that will measure and record up to ten indicator parameters continuously and send data and alarms automatically to you phone and SCADA. This equipment requires no reagents, generates no waste stream and requires very little maintenance and consumables. This presentation will examine real experience with several installations of this innovative technology in Ontario and other jurisdictions.

At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

                      • Recognize important indicator water quality parameters
                      • Understand the results produced by online analytical equipment
                      • Maintenance and calibration requirements for online instruments
                      • Awareness of software-driven data compilation and report preparation
