Exiting One Crisis and Mitigating Another Potential Crisis
You are invited to attend a free webinar, hosted by the Ontario Municipal Water Association (OMWA)
WHEN: Friday, May 1, 2020 – 11:00 a.m.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This free webinar is intended to raise the awareness of municipalities/utilities who have large commercial buildings and industries within their municipal boundaries. As large buildings have been shut down or used less frequently, building water quality degradation becomes a silent but serious issue.
This webinar is free to all. Please register in advance for this webinar via the link below:

As our government leaders try to predict when business as usual will begin in Ontario, we as water and wastewater professionals need to be ready for when our citizens go back to work and school. We need to be prepared, we need to think about all that we must do prior to reopening business and we must educate our water customers on what they also must do. Resuming business as usual should not be as simple as turning on the lights and turning up the heat. We need to educate ourselves and our customers about potential private side safety issues relating to water quality in various buildings that have been left dormant during the COVID-19 emergency.
The Ontario Municipal Water Association (OMWA) has partnered with Brian Jobb, a Training & Consulting Professional to present this very important free webinar. Brian’s presentation is meant as a starting point to bring awareness of the issue of water quality degradation in building plumbing when it is not used, or water use is significantly reduced. The presentation will be approximately one hour with opportunities to ask your questions. It is intended as a general roadmap for how to flush contaminants from the building and get the plumbing system water quality back to pre-stagnation conditions. Each building is different, and flushing will need to be tailored accordingly.
Brian Jobb is a training and consulting professional who has been actively contributing to the drinking water industry for more than 40 years, specializing in training on drinking water safety, primarily in the control of pathogenic organisms and unusual contaminants.
Once again, participation in this webinar is free but space is limited, so register as soon as possible. If you have questions, feel free to ask and provide those in writing to us prior to Wednesday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m.
