Session #5: Make Odours from Sanitary Drop Structures Magically Disappear with the IPEX Vortex Flow!

ON DEMAND RECORDING

Expires Wed. April, 15 2026.

Overview:

Anyone involved in the sewer business knows that sanitary drop structures are a maintenance nightmare for municipalities… falling wastewater causes abrasion of manhole walls, hydrogen sulfide gas created from bacteria causes odour complaints, and sulfuric acid created by H2S gas mixed with water causes corrosion of concrete and metal components inside drop chambers.  Common measures to mitigate odours and corrosion are expensive, and costs go up as the flow increases.  What if there was a product out there that can solve all of these problems at the same time?

At the completion of this one-hour OJT session, participants will be able to demonstrate the following:

    • Understand the bacteriological processes behind hydrogen sulfide gas generation
    • Compare the effectiveness of other odour control measures to the effectiveness of Vortex Flow
    • Understand the benefits of passive aeration of sanitary wastewater
    • Understand how the Vortex Flow makes it safe for workers to enter and work inside sanitary drop structures without having to bypass the live flow
