The Township is recruiting to fill the position of Water & Wastewater Operator to maintain the ongoing operations of the Water and Wastewater systems to meet the QMS, DWQMS and SDWA standards along with all other related government legislation. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field with a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role. Candidates must hold a current Class 2 Water Treatment license, Class 2 Wastewater Treatment license and current Class 2 Wastewater Collection license. Candidates with a Water Meter Installers Certificate will be preferred. The successful individual will have a valid Class “G” driver’s license and good working knowledge of Ministry of the Environment policies affecting water and wastewater operations.
The successful individual will be expected to use initiative, and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent teamwork, cooperation, and communication skills. A proven ability to provide quality customer service while providing service to the public as a representative of the municipality is required.
The present hourly wage for this position is $29.95 to $36.45 based on a 40-hour work week. The position participates in a rotating on-call schedule.
