Reporting to the Division Leader – Water Management and under the overall direction of the Corporate Leader – Operations, the Team Leader – Water is responsible for the operation of Lakeshore’s drinking water treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The Team Lead is responsible for compliance with all regulations under the Safe Drinking Water Act, the OHSA and any other governing regulations and legislation, operating policies, procedures, by-laws and principles of the Municipality. The Team Lead Acts as the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) for the water treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection systems in accordance with Ontario Regulation 128/04 and 129/04.
Some Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills required include:
- 3 year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum Ontario Class 3 Water Treatment Operator’s Certificate
- Minimum Ontario Class 2 Water Distribution or Distribution and Supply Operator’s Certificate
- Minimum Ontario Class 1 Wastewater Collection Operator’s License
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory position
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS)
- Familiarity with the wonderware suite of SCADA and Historian software, eRIS, and other water/wastewater technologies
