A member of a collaborative and innovative team, you will work in an environment that focuses on service excellence and environmental stewardship. With an approach of best practices and the highest safety standards, you will be responsible for the general operation and maintenance of the 2 extended aeration type Wastewater Treatment plants and corresponding 110 kilometers of Collection Systems and numerous pumping stations, meeting and ensuring legislative compliance for the protection of public health and safety and the natural environment.
You will be completing daily inspections of operational equipment as well as monitoring and recording data for pump rates, flows, and treatment effectiveness. Your duties will also include diagnosing treatment deficiencies and applying appropriate testing formulas and practices.
We are seeking a dedicated and driven self-starter who thrives working in a collaborative environment, understand the merits of high safety standards, has strong interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of community. Your community college diploma in a related field such as Civil Engineering, Water/Wastewater or Environmental Studies, or equivalent related experience, is complimented with your Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) Class ІII (3) Certification required in Waste Water Treatment and MECP Class ІI (2) Certification Waste Water Collection (minimum), along with a minimum of five years of demonstrated work experience in a wastewater collection and treatment environment. A valid Class G driver’s license is required, as it the ability to participate on overtime and on-call afterhours work.
