This is a unique opportunity for an inspiring leader who is genuinely committed to the wellness of Ontarians across the province to make a visible difference through the provision of clean drinking water to all communities.
Under the direction and leadership of the Board of Directors, and reporting directly to the Board Chair, you will fulfil WCWC’s mandate of safeguarding drinking water for the people of Ontario, with an emphasis on First Nations and small and vulnerable systems, through a range of programs and services. As the new CEO, you will provide strategic leadership and direction, and ensure that the Centre’s strategic and business plan and operational priorities are achieved, while ensuring the visibility and accessibility of services among rightsholders, resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction. In addition, you will lead the evolution of the current business framework to demonstrate relevance and value to the sector and enable long-term sustainability of the Centre’s operations.
This position will require provincial travel on occasion. In addition, weekend work may be required on occasion.
This executive mandate calls for a collaborative, strategic leader with a track record of success, strong managerial, organizational and planning skills to manage all technical aspects of the Centre’s operations, and a profile that includes:
- A relevant university bachelor’s degree (business, public administration, environmental sciences or engineering).
- A master’s degree in a relevant discipline would be a strong asset.
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in a management capacity.
- Knowledge and experience in the water industry.
- A valid class G driver’s licence and a good driving record.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Established in 2004, the Walkerton Clean Water Centre (WCWC) is a best-in-class facility for expert training, applied research and technology demonstration for operators of drinking water facilities. Located in the Town of Walkerton, the Centre has a provincial mandate and is an operational service agency of the Government of Ontario. WCWC features a state-of-the-art technology demonstration facility and is the province’s leading Centre for hands-on training and resources for water professionals.
