The Utility Operator II (Water/Wastewater)

The Utility Operator II is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water supply and distribution system and the wastewater treatment and collection system. This position is also responsible to develop, implement, and carry out work activities that will result in an efficiently operated water/wastewater utility. This is a permanent, full-time position that includes weekend on-call duties.


The successful candidate should possess:

• Secondary School Diploma
•MECP Water License Class III in compliance with O. Reg #128/04 or Wastewater License Class III in compliance with O. Reg # 129/04
•Knowledge of current MECP water/wastewater regulations
•Working knowledge of safe laboratory practices, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
•Valid drivers license and clean driver’s abstract
•Knowledge of roles and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act


The salary range for this position is $32.33 – $39.69 per hour based upon a 40-hour work week. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.
