The Township of Perth East is seeking applications for the full-time position of

Chief Water/Wastewater Operator

This position provides operations coordination and support for the Public Works and Parks Department including operation and maintenance of the water supply and distribution system, the wastewater treatment and collection system, and providing site leadership to the Utility Operators. The Chief Operator is also responsible to develop, implement, supervise and carry out work activities that will result in an efficiently operated water/wastewater facility.

 

Qualifications include:

•A diploma/degree as a Civil Engineering Technician (GET) or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.

•Must possess a minimum of a MOE Water License Class III and Wastewater License Class II in compliance with 0. Reg # 453/93.

•5 years of progressive management experience in water/wastewater operations with municipal experience preferred.

•Demonstrated supervisory and performance management skills.

•Demonstrated knowledge of MOL Health and Safety regulations and knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

•Demonstrated knowledge of current MOE Water/Wastewater regulations and public works standards and levels of service.

•The ability to function well under pressure, and to respond to frequently changing demands and priorities.

•Strong interpersonal communication and public relations skills

•Computer literacy skills in various office applications.

•Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.

 

Compensation includes a comprehensive benefit package with a pay range of $31.56 – $38.75 per hour, based upon a 44 hour work week.
