This webinar will provide a clear and practical overview of OACETT certification, including how the Certified Technician (C.Tech.) and Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) pathways work, what employers need to know, and how certification strengthens professional standards within engineering and technology teams.
Overview:
We will explore how OACETT supports professionals working in municipalities and public drinking water authorities across Ontario by helping organizations attract, retain, and develop top technical talent. Through recognized credentials, professional accountability, and continuous professional development, OACETT plays a key role in advancing workforce excellence.
The session will also highlight the additional benefits available to OACETT members, including career development tools, networking opportunities, exclusive affinity programs, and opportunities to further enhance certification through specialized designations such as Municipal Infrastructure Inspector (mii) and Municipal Infrastructure Contract Administrator (mica). These designations are designed to enhance the quality, oversight, and long-term value of municipal infrastructure investments related to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

Carol Warner, C.Tech
Deputy Registrar, OACETT
Carol is the Deputy Registrar at OACETT and is also a member of the association as a Certified Technician (C.Tech.) in the environmental discipline. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and before joining OACETT 6 years ago, worked in the municipal sector for 17 years in roles related to waste management and drinking water compliance. During her non-working hours, she enjoys camping at provincial parks and watching documentaries on Tudor England.
