How long have you been on the Board and what position do you currently hold?
Joined the Board in May 2010. Former Vice President, currently Chair.

What municipality or organization do you represent?
Chair of Lakefront Utility Services Inc. (LUSI supplies water in Cobourg, Grafton, Colborne and part of Hamilton Township).

What is your educational and professional background?
Corporate lawyer – Queen’s grad.

What inspired you to become an OMWA Board Member?
Who actually… My Uncle – Hawley Hoselton – a past Chair of LUSI, and past President of the OMWA

What do you hope to see in the future for OMWA?
Representation of more water systems; and continued constructive work among our members, other sector organizations, and the MOECC.

What would you say to a 16-year-old student considering a career path, in water?
Go for it! Be part of a great industry, with good job opportunities, a good career path, all while fulfilling a vital role in our communities.

What advice would you give to a new graduate considering a position in the water industry?
Congratulations on becoming part of our industry. Keep up with the many technological advancements, and network with your colleagues around the Province …

What’s your hometown?
Haileybury, N. Ont.

What brought you to Ontario?
My Mother giving birth to me … lol

What was your first job?
Stocking vending machines for the Dutch Oven in Cobourg (my Uncle Hawley’s business)…

What challenges have you had to overcome in your career?
Constant change … things never stand still … even when (for brief seasons) you think they are settled into a routine…

What are some of your hobbies or how do you spend your free time?
Many outdoor interests … fishing being tops  … but not much free time!

What is something quirky about you?
I love (and need) real keyboards – so still use a BlackBerry; use an iPad with a keyboard case; and as much as I use a “cloud calendar” – I organize my days on different coloured index cards (colour coded to where I’ll be) …

What was your most prized toy as a child, and why?
A collection of “control line .049 powered” airplanes … because I have always been fascinated by flight … culminating in obtaining a private pilot’s license …
