This temporary full-time position (up to 5 years) would be an excellent opportunity for a water and wastewater treatment operations leader who can manage a large, multidisciplinary staff team in a results-oriented and predominantly unionized environment.

Reporting to the Director, Water Wastewater Operations, you will assume lead accountability and responsibility for the Plant Operations Section, and the administration and control of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plants, municipal wells, water/wastewater pumping stations, reservoirs and water towers, and combined sewer overflow tanks within the City of Hamilton.

More specifically, as Manager, Plant Operations, you’ll be expected to ensure that all drinking water and wastewater treatment, storage and pumping facilities are operated in accordance with City and Provincial guidelines, with minimal disruption to the public, and in the most effective and efficient manner consistent with the City of Hamilton Mission and Vision. You will prepare, and report on, the Section's services, financial, administrative and staff performance against established benchmarks, and implement strategies to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This role will enable you to draw upon your demonstrated record of strong leadership and guidance, technical competence, customer focus, innovation and creativity, team advocacy, staff delegation and empowerment, and staff development, and your commitment to results.

This full-time, temporary position offers a wage range of $56.582 to $67.559 per hour (based on a 35-hour work week schedule).
